Speaking of, how the hell had you gotten yourself into this mess?! How did you get mated to your boys?! I mean, they hadn't done anything in accordance to the books you had read on Mer courting habits! So how did they-Wait a second...You groaned and facepalmed before allowing yourself to lie in a pathetic, embarrassed heap on the ground. Eclipse had literally told you how! He had told you about the pearls! But if he knew...Why did he mate with you? Why did any of them mate with you and not f*cking tell you what they had done?! You quickly shook your head and pushed the thoughts and your growing anger down. No, now wasn't the time to think of these things. First, you all needed to get out of here alive and once you were all safe, you would talk to them and demand they answer your questions and unmate from you! After all, they owed you that much at least after this whole mess-

You were suddenly torn from your thoughts when you heard something down one of the halls up ahead at a crosspoint. What was...? You stopped moving and focused on the sound before feeling a chill run down your spine as you heard the light scratching of claws against concrete. sh*t! Something dangerous was coming your way, you were sure of it! You needed to hide, now! You quickly pushed yourself up and started looking around for a hiding place, before growing dismayed as you saw nothing but those strange purple lights and cold steel. Oh, you were screwed! You were going to die here, all because you didn't listen to Eclipse and got trapped in a body that was not yours! You quickly turned towards the sound and braced yourself, ready to fight and face your death head-on. You heard the thing coming closer and closer, your heart beating wildly in your chest as you prepared to die before a familiar, golden Mer popped his head past the corner and made eye contact with you.

"SUNSHINE!!" He cried out once he registered who you were before rushing up and tackling you into a hug, purring loudly as he did so.

"PUPPY!" You responded just as enthusiastically before letting out a mildly hysterical laugh of relief as he swung you around before hugging you close again.

"Sunshine, Sunshine, thank the stars, you're alright!" Sun cried out as he hugged you close and, despite your anger and feelings of betrayal, you couldn't stop the flood of relieved tears that came from your eyes as you hugged him back with the same ferocity as he had, burying your face in his shoulder as you instinctively curled your much smaller tail around his.

"I'm alright Sunny, I'm okay." You whispered back before pushing away and gently cupping his head in your hands, finding a bloody wound on his face which made him wince when you lightly brushed it with your finger. You felt your anger bloom up in your heart at the sight, but you quickly pushed it down and instead focused on your dear Sunny boy. "Oh, Puppy...Who did this to you?"

"No one of importance." The bright Mer responded with a slight growl before nuzzling into your right hand and gently kissing your left, ignoring how your hand pressed against his wound and spread his blood over his face. Though you wanted to alert him of this, you also didn't have it in you to break this precious silence that you two had fostered between yourselves.

For a moment you two sat like that, your tails entwined as he gently kissed your hands and arms as you gently rubbed over the mark on the left side of his face, using your spit to clean it. You knew it might not be the best idea, but you didn't want him walking around with blood all over his face which could cause debris to stick to his wound and infect it. He flinched slightly whenever you put pressure around the wound, but didn't protest as you worked and even purred louder when you gently pulled him closer to examine the mark now that the blood was washed away. You sighed in relief as you found it wasn't too deep and it had thankfully stopped bleeding, but you had no disinfectant or bandages to keep it clean, which meant that it could get infected later. You sighed before licking your finger and cleaning off a little blood you had missed, watching as Sun's eyes widened before he gave a woozy smile and leaned into your other hand with a loud purr.
