“There is not enough I can say about old running restaurant. The grill is well seasoned! Along with the staff, they don't miss a beat! We enjoyed the hot tamales, salad, steak and spaghetti and meatballs.You will enjoy being able to sit in the kitchen and walking through the grill area. The grill area is at the front door! While you're on the way to your seat feel free to grab a drink of your choice.Lots of great memorabilia posted on the wall for everyone to enjoy.”

“We stopped by Spectator’s around 5 pm this past Thursday before heading out on a 2 hour drive back home. We had never eaten at Spectator’s before but we were hungry so took a chance on getting some good food before hitting the road. Wow, my guy order the catfish dinner and I opted for the hamburger! Both of us got the crispy potato fries … by chance it was a great choice! Needless to say, to go boxes were needed since neither of us could finish the huge amount of food before us! My burger was gigantic, delicious but beyond my stomach’s capacity, especially so since the crispy potato fries piled high next to the burger. Spectator’s did not disappoint us. We will definitely stop by the next time we are in Greenville!”

“The Four Foodie Sisters took on the Tamale Trail in search of the best tamales. STOP RIGHT HERE, because this place is the bomb. It is only one of two places we would drive back to with more people!!! The Tamale Pie and the Fried Tamales are off the chart. Do not pass this up or miss out. The staff was AMAZING as well. Go to the 1427 Hwy 1 location because it has the full menu. We promise, you won't be disappointed. The Four Foodie Sisters know food”

The family that owns and operates this business is the fourth generation. This family has owned this business for over 90 years!The food is pure Southern home cooking at its best. The Southern hospitality is as good as it gets.We arrived today at 12:30. It was packed with locals. All eyes were on us as we entered because they were trying to figure out who the strangers were. By 1:30, it was pretty cleared out.They have daily specials, and we overheard the server telling some late comers about some side dishes that they were out of already.It was Wednesday, and we both ordered the daily special. You are given a choice of two meats and three side dishes. I got the chicken and dressing. My wife got the beef tips over Rice. We both thought we ordered the best dish. The sweet potato casserole was to die for good. It was right on par with the Cherry Cheese Pie.So glad we made this stop today.”

“All you can eat crawfish. Steak was phenomenal. Shrimp was dank in the good way. Fried green tomatoes, Budan egg rolls aren't on the menu but they got em, and we highly recommend them. Fried catfish was good too.”

“Where do I even begin. This is a hidden gem! The staff is super nice and helpful and I got their turkey leg over dirty rice with cream sauce per recommendation. It was by far the best meal Ive had in a long time. If the turkey leg is this good, I'm jealous for what their family does for Thanksgiving. If I could put more than 5 stars I would. I'll definitely be back!”

“Walked in as a first-time customer & walked out as a forever customer today. One of the best salads I ever had since Q-Mart by Carrie Stern. I knew the salad was gone be busting when I smelled the fresh aroma of it from the bag. Salad was huge and Made just the way I like my salads… WITH EVERYTHING‼️ I even love how they chopped the cucumbers up small and soft. The customer service was amazing. Very nice people! BLACK OWNED right in my neighborhood too. I will be back to support more.(Sorry, I couldn’t even get a picture of it because I ate it so fast without thinking to even take one.)”

“My wife and I went to Downtown Grill to celebrate our 30 anniversary. Wonderful atmosphere and a beautiful restaurant. Waitress was outstanding and our food was cooked perfectly.”

“This was not my first time at the restaurant, but it is the most memorable. The service was very nice, as usual. But what brings me here to make this review is how delicious the porterhouse pork chop dinner was. It’s been 3 days and I’m still thinking of how perfectly cooked and seasoned this meal was. I’m a veggie lover, so I was very impressed with the amount of vegetables they put on my plate. I know that Spinach shrinks and so I was prepared to not get much on my plate, but it was a goodly portion and I loved it! I also had the wild rice and broccolini, and was once again impressed. I’m usually not a fan of wild rice, but I left there wondering how they make theirs so perfectly. When I say this was the best restaurant pork chop I’ve ever had, I mean it with every ounce of my food loving soul. 10/10 recommend. I don’t mean to downplay the service, but it’s always been good at this restaurant. Kudos all around!”

“Usually is a long line and a very long waiting time in the line. About 30 minutes if there's 3 cars in front of me. This time, there was 5 cars in front of me and it took a total of about 20 to 25 minutes. It was awesome.”

“Everything was fresh and delicious!!! My first visit I had one of the lunch specials, Broccoli and Chicken, which came with Egg Rolls, Soda of your choice and something else ( I can not remember what the other item was) for $8. Eight dollars and change!!! I WAS NOT disappointed!!! I have been there several times since then and have recommended and taken someone else there!!!”

“I cannot rave enough about the food here. We had a company event that we catered through them. 100 filets of catfish GONE in less than 20 minutes. BBQ was best I have found in Greenville. Ms.Miranda was so accommodating and helpful. PTCOA will be back!!”
