US Open Gauff v Sabalenka RESULTS | Sabalenka's subtle dig at US Open crowd

In her speech following her defeat, Aryna Sabalenka couldn't resist having a subtle dig at the crowd.
The Belarusian was unsurprisingly battling the 23,000-strong crowd in Arthur Ashe Stadium, who were cheering for the home favourite down the other end.
After the match, Sabalenka was asked what she was most proud of from her slam season which saw her also claim her first title at the Australian Open back in January.
"I don't know ... " she started before emotions got the better of her.
The crowd then let out a massive cheer - easily the biggest of the night for her.
"You guys could've supported me like this during the match," she said with a laugh before answering the rest of the question.
"I'm most proud that I was able to, most of the time, handle my emotions pretty well and focus on myself, not on the ranking," she said.
Sabalenka will take over from Iga Swiatek as World No.1 next week, while Gauff will rise to No.3.
"Congrats to you and your team, you guys deserve this title," Sabalenka said to Gauff.

US Open Gauff v Sabalenka LIVE | Sabalenka gets a break back
Damien McCartney
Todd Woodbridge's theory looks to be on the money.
She's come out in the first game after that medical timeout and won the first of those two breaks back. And she did it to 15.
"That break definitely helped Sabalenka," he said in commentary.
Can she fight back?
The game clock has just ticked over the two-hour mark.
US Open Gauff v Sabalenka LIVE | Sabalenka on the board
Damien McCartney
Down 4-0, Aryna Sabalenka got herself on the board in this second set by holding serve and then immediately taking a medical timeout.
In commentary for Nine, Todd Woodbridge said it was unlikely Sabalenka was genuinely in need of medical attention - it was more likely taken to give her a break and try and arrest some momentum from Gauff.
The 19-year-old remained on court during the stoppage and kept herself warm by serving.
US Open Gauff v Sabalenka LIVE | Gauff goes up a double break
Damien McCartney
It's really starting to fall apart now for Aryna Sabalenka.
Early in the game, she lost the vibration dampener - a small piece of rubber that sits between the strings towards the bottom of the racquet face - and her next shot was almost sent into orbit.
"What's going on for Aryna Sabalenka?" Todd Woodbridge posed in commentary for Nine.
He said Sabalenka needed to find a way to hold that game or this match was all but over.
Another forehand sailed over the baseline to give Gauff the double break.
It's a long way back from here for the World No.1-in-waiting.
US Open Gauff v Sabalenka LIVE | Gauff takes lead for first time

For the first time in this match, Coco Gauff leads.
She's broken Sabalenka in the first game of this third and deciding set and the crowd have lifted.
"Coco is just playing the right way now," Todd Woodbridge said in commentary for Nine.
The decision was made to close the roof on Arthur Ashe Stadium earlier in the day due to the forecast for rain.
And it was bang on - it's now bucketing down outside.
